I know this may come across as odd, but today I want to warn you against a product in the company I represent. Yep, you read that correctly. I know this isn’t the norm, and it may be totally crazy. I am not trying to sabotage myself, but I wouldn’t be the best steward for your health if I wasn’t truthful.
The 5 Day Drop
You may or may not have seen, or even participated, in our newest program called the 5 Day Drop. This has been a very successful program that has already helped thousands of people shed lots of inflammation and gently detox to lose an average of 5 pounds in five days. I’ve seen some people lose double digits in five days! I personally lost 4, so under the 5 pound mark, but still good. I do think this is a great program because there is a food guide to truly help you learn how to prioritize protein and your other macros, so it’s not a diet. Another thing I love about is that a couple of our own social marketers (aka reps) created this program and it works so well it went viral! Next thing you know, the company put the right amount of products together for its own package. Pretty darn cool..
Avoid this ingredient
But it came to my attention that one of the products in the 5DD called Revitalize has maltodextrin in it. BUMMER!! Here’s why that’s not a good thing:
Personally, I don’t trust the FDA, and here’s just one reason why. The FDA recognizes maltodextrin as a generally safe food additive. It is added to quite a few foods, and when consumed enough it can negatively affect your gut bacteria. Consuming maltodextrin can lead to intestinal damage and a higher risk of IBS. But that’s not all. Maltodextrin has a higher glycemic index than table sugar, so it can cause a sharp spike in your blood sugar. Maltodextrin can also cause allergic reactions which could be anything from rashes to gas and bloating and even weight gain.
I want to thank a potential customer who brought this ingredient to my attention. As I get further into my own health and wellness journey, I am more and more interested and aware of ingredients. But I had not looked into maltodextrin before. Now that I know it’s in Revitalize, I can no longer in good conscience recommend it as part of the 5 Day Drop. The good news is that I am here to make sure the journey we are on together is about health above all else. SO I am currently doing a personal tweak of this program that I will share with you if you’d like. Since I am not as well-known in my company I do not foresee my version going viral which is perfectly fine. But now you and I both know to check ingredient labels and avoid maltodextrin where you can. And if you are healthier because of this share, then I have done my job.

Side Note: I want you to know that I am very grateful for many great supplements that have helped me feel and look my best. And I love being able to share products I love and make a commission IF it is something that solves a problem for others. Getting started into the supplement business has opened my eyes to so much in the health and wellness arena, and whether it is my ADHD or just something that really clicked in my brain, has sparked a passion for learning and sharing things we can do-especially when we are busy AF-to look and feel our best..and that includes without supplementation as well (ex: nutrition tips and workouts, food swaps, etc) But I promise you that I will choose honesty and transparency above all.
